Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information ryanborden.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website only.

Information we collect

Information you give us: your name and email address when you request a guide, subscribe, complete the Quantum Scorecard, or contact me by form, email, or phone. If you book a call, the scheduling provider collects the details you enter on its booking page.

Information collected automatically: pages visited, referring site, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and time spent on the site. This is aggregate analytics data and is not used to identify you personally.

How we use it

To send you the resource you asked for; to reply to your question; to send occasional emails about new articles and guides, which you can unsubscribe from with the link in any email; and to understand which content is useful so I can write more of it.

Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Legal basis and consent

Where consent is the basis for processing — marketing email, non-essential cookies — you give it by opting in, and you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing or emailing me. Where I respond to a direct inquiry, the basis is legitimate interest in answering you.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses a small number of cookies: essential cookies that make pages work, and analytics cookies that count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential functions will still work.

Website analytics are provided by Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC. Google Analytics sets cookies to measure how the site is used — pages viewed, referring site, approximate location, and device type — and processes that data on my behalf. IP addresses are anonymized before the data is stored, and the results are only reviewed in aggregate. Google's handling of the data is described in the Google Privacy Policy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

If a consent banner is shown in your region, Google Analytics cookies are set only after you accept.

Service providers

A handful of third parties process data on my behalf: website hosting, email delivery and list management, call scheduling, and website analytics (Google Analytics 4). Each is bound to use the data only to provide its service. The Quantum Scorecard is hosted separately and collects the answers you submit to it.

How long we keep it

Email subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Contact inquiries are kept as long as needed to handle them and for reasonable business records. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to marketing, or ask that processing be restricted. Email ryan@content-magic.ai and I will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. I do not sell personal information.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their information.

Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures protect the information collected here. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be noted to email subscribers.
